Don’t Limit Yourself

You’re literally the daughter of THE KING, act like it.

Limit — a point or level beyond which something does not or may not extend or pass.

Hey Darlings, this blog boost is indeed going to be your boost for the rest of month, maybe even the year if you need to come back to it.

We’re just girls and sometimes we have moments of insecurity that forces us to limit ourselves from God’s destiny over our lives. Listen it’s normal and it happens to the best of us. The key thing to remember is that God’s will is bigger than our understanding.

 The Cons Of Social Media

We’re currently living in the era where we can’t tell what’s real or what’s not. Social media allows people to create a façade and people have fell victim to the make believe world. What does this have to do with limiting yourself? Well, if you think about it platforms like Instagram has this weird aura about it that opens opportunities for us to compare ourselves to the next person daily. “We’re the same age and she’s making so much more than I am.” “I’m a mom just like her, why can’t I be just as happy juggling mom life and my social life?” and the rabbit hole of comparison thoughts goes on and on. When it comes to what we see online it’s so important to remember that we only see what people want us to see. For example, I have so many Pinterest trained photos in my phone that if I wanted to combine a few of them from different days even months to create an Instagram post I can bet that people may think I’m on some type of luxurious trip while all those photos were taken by me in Manhattan.

“Comparison is the thief of joy.”

We often see things on social media that makes us feel as if we’re not doing enough or not doing anything at all. It forces us into a box of emotions that creates a space for us to pity ourselves. Instead of focusing on how to step into God’s will for us, we’re too busy focusing on all the odds we’re facing. Some times unintentionally we compare ourselves so much we create a false identity of who we think we are because we see what others are doing and what we’re missing out on. It’s important to remember we don’t know how people are achieving the things they have. We don’t know the price they paid for their success or lifestyle. So the next time you find yourself comparing your situation to the girls on your explore page, snap out of it. To be real, a lot of people aren’t happy behind their social media handles and niche-aesthetic posts.

Matthew 6:33 “Seek Ye First The Kingdom And All Will Be Added To You.”

“When you limit yourself, you limit God’s will. Don’t put God in a box.”

Your Friends & Family Aren’t Your Target Audience.

I’m speaking from experience so eat the meat, spit out the bone with this one. I’ve noticed that complete strangers will support me before my own friends and family would. Not that anyone is obligated to do so however you would think the people who actually know you would want to see you succeed. WRONG. Most times the people you expect to show up for you have the least amount of faith in you or in your dreams. If you take nothing from me ever take this, your target audience finds you, most times you don’t need to find it. Do not limit yourself because you think someone would hate your product or idea. Curate your content, sew the dress how you intended to sew it, design your tote bag exactly how you saw the vision and my favorite one yet… PRICE THAT THING HOW AT THE PRICE YOU KNOW IS WORTH YOUR PRODUCT OR SERVICE! Do not allow someone who thinks they deserve a right to your creativity to limit your brand, your business or your service. The right people will find you, YOUR people will find you and they’ll be more than happy to pay your prices.

Lamborghini does not shoot commercials, they don’t need to because their target audience will find them and pay their prices. Chanel is not going to lower their prices because someone is upset about a Classic Flap being worth over 10 thousand dollars. Matter a fact, they’ve increased their value recently. Hermès has been faced with so many lawsuits because of the “Hermès game”, they still won’t offer a Birkin or Kelly to just anyone. KNOW YOUR WORTH, ADD TAX! Do not limit yourself because the wrong audience found you.

This post is a message to myself as well. I hope it finds you and you go back to it from time to time when you need some encouragement.

With Love, Dani.
