Cool Things Society Deemed Uncool

Okay lately, I’ve been so into all the things that were once cool but society deemed as uncool. Call me an old lady but here are my “Cool Things The Kids Today Think Are Uncool.”

 Wired Headphones

I’ve tried AirPods, lost those so many times. I tried the AirPod Max, but my husband broke them. I haven’t had headphones for a couple of months and these days I have been leaning towards wired ones. The old reliable!

There is something so captivating about a girl with wire headphones, all tangled in her bag, the perfect mess. It’s so nostalgic as well. I just picture myself on the train, my headphones and some gospel music booming in my ear. Brb, I’m gonna go make my purchase now.

Two Step Skincare —

According to social media you need a 50 part skin routine in order to glow and keep your skin young. As if it has nothing to do with genetics but hey!

Another crazy thing about those intense skin care routines is that most of the products being used are stripping your skin of the natural oils that it needs to keep your skin healthy. The skin care I’ve been using the past couple of months has been my favorite by far. A good cleanser, I use the Pears soap and for moisturizer I follow up with the Hawaiian Tropics sunscreen. Using a SPF whether the sun is out or not is protecting you from UV and other harsh rays of the sun.

Untidy Instagram —

I was once the super aesthetic girlie. Everything had to have the same vibe. No one talks about the work that goes behind an aesthetic Instagram. Lately, I have been enjoying using my Instagram as a digital journal. Just a girl capturing her life on camera and using the platform as a portfolio. It’s been so much fun not worrying about likes, comments or an aesthetic. Just showing things from my POV.

In all honesty. I’m over my social media era. It’s so unauthentic and it’s so dramatic and competitive. I miss the fun days. Vine days.

Repeating Outfits

Let’s be real, this isn’t high school and I never cared then and I definitely don’t care now. Repeating outfits will never be lame to me especially when I’ve formed an attachment to a certain wardrobe item. Whatever makes me comfortable, I’m going to wear it.

Society can’t bully me out of wearing what I want to wear and how many times I wear it. Especially when I have a washer and dryer! Praise God for that!

I am in the era of not caring what people have to say anymore. I’ve fallen into my own category and I am so happy with that!
