Darling Digest - Life Update

Hey Darlings, welcome back to another Darling Digest. It’s Wednesday and I have some things to share!

Congratulations Jon!

My husband started a new job. All praise to God! Not only did he receive this opportunity that will allow him to grow but he is back in his field. Jonathan, for as long as I’ve known him enjoys a good suit. He is passionate about a well tailored suit, fabric, stitching and all the accessories that comes with finer menswear! So when this opportunity was presented to him to be apart of the leadership team of Hive & Colony I was beyond excited for him. I’ll be able to watch in real time how his fall/winter wardrobe will transform and how much joy this brings him.

Watching him get excited about something as small as a button hole on a button down shirt does something for my heart. Supporting him and cheering him on is one of my favorite parts of being his wife. Everyone congratulate Jon on this new endeavor!

Milani Takes Grade One!

Our 6 year old has literally one week left of Summer Vacation! MJ is on her way to first grade and today we met her teachers! I was looking forward to meeting them all summer. I believe having a healthy parent/teacher relationship is a curical part in your child’s development academically.

Teachers are under appreciated in my opinion. They have our babies for 8-10 hours during the week. Which is way more time than they spend at home during the school year. They are second parents if you think about it. So I was super excited to introduce the family to her teachers and create a good first impression so that during this year we can maintain a good relationship! First grade, here MJ comes and we’re right behind her!

Marlee & The Teeth

Marlee’s teething is taking a toll on my girl. She has been so fussy lately. Current update, she had 3 on top with a new one coming in and same for the bottom. At 9 months our girl has 8 teeth! Shes eating more foods now. Her favorite being anything I’m eating. (I can’t even eat my food in peace anymore.) She absolutely loves fruits and she’s still a French Fry sucker!

She’s taking more steps, saying more words and even repeating from time to time. It’s so magical watching her grow and learning. She has such a bright personality but also is so shy. Give it up for our almost one year old! *sobs in disbelief*

Wardrobe Updates

So I started my thrifting journey and so far, ABSOLUTELY YES! Some people get rid of some of the BEST clothing items and I can’t wrap my head around it but THANK YALL! I’ve been enjoying those videos on TikTok that dissect a certain style or fashion trend. So informative and the comment sections have been so supportive and kind! I recently dropped my outfit in the comment section of OliviaSara_23 video and the love was so heart warming. I was very skeptical about the outfit at the beginning of the day but fell in love as the day went on. Receiving so much love and feedback especially from Olivia was a dream.

Being on the topic of outfits, I had to order some new frames with my prescription. This time choosing my glasses was more intentional than all the other times before. I went with something that would go out with my current style in outfits and something that will translate well with my haircut. I purchased them from ZeeLool. I love the feature of trying the frames on either with a photo or live. It was so helpful. I’m contemplating an oval frame as my next purchase.

Night Table Styling/Fall Prep

During the past couple weeks I have been trying to create a vibe with the help of Pinterest for our home for the upcoming seasons. If you don’t know by now Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year, especially in home decor and fashion. The color scheme this year are browns, forest green & oranges, Jon’s request. So far I have a few ideas in mind. Here are some ideas I have been considering.

Starting with my nightstand. Generally I’ll start with a smaller project that will help me see the vision for the rest of the house. I’m using decor I currently have to help me transform the smaller spaces. Target trip coming soon!

Also, I have found so much joy in fulfilling orders, sending updates and shipping out DCS Tote bags. It’s kinda like a Darling Club Society uniform piece. I can’t believe people enjoy my work. I love you so much and thank you for your support. The last time I checked there were 80 of you here on Substack! So take this minute to flip your hair or pat your back and say with, “Period, I’m a Darling!!”

God bless you abundantly and remember to keep reading your Bible! It’s life’s medicine!

With love, Dani!
