New Friends?
Hey Darlings.. What a good week it has been so far. Let’s jump right into this recap.
Out The Cart
JWPei Bag — I finally received my Yara Shoulder Bag from JWPei. It is a replica of the Hermes Shoulder Birkin and it has scratch that itch. Of all the bags I have in my collection, this is my current favorite of them all. It’s such a good bag for the fall and can be translated into the other seasons as well. It’s super spacious and timeless. Just like a Birkin would be. Definitely recommend shopping with JW Pei for an affordable luxury experience.
Fine’ry Body Mist — Finding the perfect body mist is just as important as finding your signature fragrance. Body mist can be layered onto to create a unique scent for you. I’ve heard about Fine’ry for some time now and never paid much attention to the brand until this week. I made my first purchase and instantly understood the lore. Santal is my favorite note in the fragrance world and their Jungle Santal body mist is just what I needed in my collection. I can honestly say going forward this body mist will become a frequent in my collection.
Sand & Stone Hand Cream — I’ve came across Sand & Stone on Pinterest during my daily dose of aesthetic pins. I’ve always wanted to invest in buying from them but never did. Now that I’m in the stage of my life that I rather spend on things that will improve my day to day experience I decided to give in and make the purchase. Sand & Stone is now available in Sephora and last Sunday I dragged Jon with me to see what’s new in stores. Of course I fell so fast for their Santal and Vetiver scented hand cream which by the way is the most moisturizing hand cream I’ve ever used. Definitely recommend trying them out.
Revolution Lip Peptide — I can’t help it, if a product has a minimalistic feel to their packaging I want it. I stopped in target on Monday to grab a new lip liner and ended up at the Revolution Beauty section. My eyes immediately went to their lippies where I spent over five minutes trying to figure out which flavor of their lip peptide I wanted to purchase. With no prior knowledge of the brand, I took my chances and went with their Spice option. This lip peptide is nothing like a Summer Friday or Rhode but equally as good. Very long lasting, smells delectable but is super sheer and not sticky at all. Spice pairs best with a lighter lip liner color like MAC’s cork rather than a deeper brown shade for me but is just as beautiful on its own. The tube is a decent size and fits perfectly in my smaller purses like my Chanel WOC.
What’s New This Week
New Friend Alert — On Monday I met one of Milani’s friend’s mom. We were all walking to school when the kids greeted each other which sparked a conversation with us moms. Usually I’m very skeptical about making friends because of trauma in friendships but her energy was light and she was very pleasant to talk to. As we approached the school and the kids went off, I formally introduced myself which led to the exchange of phone numbers. After texting for some days we scheduled a play date which is actually a first for me with a new friend. She mentioned that she felt led to be friends because she heard me praying over the kids and the school. Ain’t God good? I’ve been praying for some friends in my area for a while, I’ve even cried to Jon about it. Now look how God answered that prayer all because I was praying!! So we have a scheduled play date with our babies this weekend.
Reading Schedule — I have ONE day to finish this book I bought from Strand a month ago. Hardly Strangers by A.C. Robinson has been a pretty hard read for me this month. I don’t know exactly why but I haven’t been drawn to it like I was the last two books I’ve read. (The Younger Wife and Summer In The City) The goal is to tackle that today and finish the book. I’m on chapters 8/13 so it shouldn’t be that bad. Right?
Fashion & Style
Fashion Week Fall/Winter is approaching which means events in the city that Jon & I are looking forward to. Stay tuned!
By now you know how I feel about Fall so I won’t have to express my love further right? Okay good. So far I’ve curated my fall purse rotation with bags I already have in my collection.
Here is my line up:
Louis Vuitton Nano Speedy (Brown)
Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 (White & Grey)
Steve Madden Bizitmi Shoulder (Chocolate)
JW Pei Yara Shoulder (Dark Brown)
Chanel Accordion Hobo (Caramel)
Dior Lady Dior Mini (Black)
I’m currently not on the market for any new bags and will be rotating all the ones I’ve already collected.
Wishlist
There’s only a few items on my fashion wishlist this month. One being loafers. I’m in the market for a good everyday loafer either brown or black. JW Pei has a few options that I would love to give a try on in store before their pop up shop leaves SoHo. Depending on how our Sunday goes, I’ll probably talk Jon into taking a trip with me to weigh my options.
Faith
I am finally back and out of that funk I’ve been in for months. Last night I picked up my physical Bible and did some independent studying and it felt so refreshing to read the Word and hear from God. Having the Bible app is cool but having a physical Bible is cooler. I’m currently bouncing between Numbers & Proverbs. I need God to get me together for this new season. Thank yaaaa!
Anyways Darlings, that’s all for now. Thank you for sticking with me another week. I’ve added a page on the website to shop all the items I’ve mentioned in this week’s Darling Digest (Get It) so make sure you check that out and explore what’s there to offer. Remember that there is a God who loves you so much and is waiting at the door, knocking hoping you’ll answer so He can eat at the table with you. (Revelation 3:20) Grace and Peace and I love you!
With so much love and hugs, Dani.
