What I realized is when people are so misunderstood they become easy targets.

This week felt like a blur. Hello?

 Hey Darlings, honestly what even happened this week? It went by so fast and I felt like it slipped away from me. Let’s get into it.

New Friend Recap 

  Last Darling Digest I told y’all I had plans for a play date with Milani’s classmate. Well, it went GREAT! Turns out we have so much in common, even wedding pictures and location. I mean considering the fact that we got married at the court house but you know twins! She’s so cool and thoughtful and really sweet. We’re planning mommy play date next since the kids had a blast last time. 

 It honestly feels good to be able to make friends as an adult. It’s been a struggle for me especially with my best friend living down south but connecting with my new friend brought me some hope! I’ll keep you posted Darlings because this is so big for me!

Rhode at Sephora. 

 Darlings, they’ve wiped the shelves CLEAN! Rhode officially launched in Sephora on Thursday, September 4. There is only one Sephora in the Bronx and it’s on the complete other side from where I live currently so going there with the baby was not an option for me. Yesterday, September 5, I decided to take a trip to the city early morning with Jon. His store is literally two blocks away from the Madison Ave location so it made sense. I was so giddy walking into Sephora and of course, it was wiped cleaned!

  However, I was able to grab a few things. The Pocket Blush in Toasted Teddy, The Glazing Milk and the Watermelon Lip Peptide. These were all things on my To Buy list so I felt good to cross them off. I’m so in love with that Pocket Blush. The creamy finish on my skin looks so natural. I tried using it how I’ve seen HB did in a few videos, just her fingers, no brush and that left the smoothest texture on my face. I was on the market for something lightweight that easily blends into my skin for a natural sunburned and tanned look especially for the A/W seasons and this is it. She’s legit a makeup genius! 

  I haven’t tried the Glazing Milk just yet but I’ve heard marvelous things about this products. Of course, I’ve used my Lip Peptide already. Since I’m really discovering the brand for myself, I’m learning that the lip peptide that are in the brand’s signature grey colored tubes are not tinted while the colored tubes are tinted. I was in awe at the fact. Go off HB! You did a thing here! 

  Fashion Week Prep 

 I’ve found the most perfect Men’s leather top that fits me exactly how I expected it to after seeing it hung up in the store on Thursday! I’m making the investment into that fashion piece because it is exactly what I need for this year’s A/W Fashion Week in NYC. 

 Jon and I have two events on Friday of next week and I needed something comfortable but fashion forward to wear. Since we’ll be bouncing around from event to event I wanted to make sure my outfit translated seamlessly and this top will definitely do that for me. No photos yet, you know how that goes just know I’ll hit the jackpot after this purchase! 

 The good thing about said top is that I can wear it all seasons long after fashion week. Definitely isn’t a one wear and done which is why I’m so excited considering the fact that we’re doing No Spend September. Oh, I can’t wait to share it with you. 

Cravings 

Cinnamon Rolls 

I wake up every morning thinking about them. I dream about cinnamon rolls chasing me down the block saying, “EAT ME! EAT MEEEE!” I just need a little something to take the edge off. I can’t stop thinking about cinnamon rolls and after I eat them; I want more! 

Salt Caramel 

Anything in this flavor has been quenching my thirst. From flavored cold foam to lip gloss. I don’t understand how I slept on this flavor all my life. So much so that I’ll get regular caramel icecream and add sea salt for that kick. Try it! 

 Faith & Gifts 

 Yesterday, I heard God told me to say something to this young lady in front of me. So I stopped her and complimented her, not expecting anything from it. She turned to me and said, “You put the pep in my step today. Thank you so much.” Sometimes, people just need to hear kind words. We never know that they’re dealing with and being nice can go a long way. That didn’t only bless her, it blessed me as well.

 Later that day I had a good talk with my cousin in law. God is using me to be softer as a friend and at the end of the conversation I could instant feel the relief on her end. What I realized is when people are so misunderstood they become easy targets so creating a space for them to express themselves with no judgement or interruption is key for them and their mental health. Again, this is another way God used me this week. She spoke, I gave insight and we can to so many resolutions. This is a confirmation for me about my purpose. My kingdom calling. I’m grateful and honored that God has trusted me with His daughters. Being a safe place for women who feel lost and guiding them with love and scripture, no judgement just wisdom is required in these times. I thought for a long time God wanted me to lead a ministry or a church but it’s individual counseling. I’m so blessed and honored, I can’t lie. 

   Not much to recap this week however next week is when the party begins! I’m so excited! God’s will everything will be amazing and I’ll have a full recap for you!! Fashion Week I’m ready!
